On the other hand, government-owned ships are not used as official ships when they are engaged in commercial activities. The official ship must be used in the method and purpose of the regular performance of official duties, so merchant ships occasionally transport materials for government services, can not become official ships, only when the ship is long-term chartered by the government or requisitioned in accordance with the law for the performance of official duties, only become official ships. Similarly, if an official ship occasionally carries goods or passengers, it does not lose its status as an official ship.
According to Lloyd Register of Shipping (Lloyd) and Bureau of Shipping (ABS-American Bureau of Shipping), the two most authoritative classification agencies in the world, boats are classified by power type, length and horsepower (for power boats).
According to different power to divide, there are two types of boats: sail boats (Sailing yacht) and power boats (Motor yacht), sail boats that is usually said sailing.
The length of the boats also varies and can be divided into boat types no greater than 40 feet, 40-70 feet, 70-100 feet, and over 100 feet.
Sailing boats can be divided into the following three categories: First, keel boats, with a length of 6.5 to 22 meters. The iron rudder or lead rudder in the lower part of the hull is used to stabilize the hull and slow down the lateral movement of the hull. Due to the characteristics of good stability and strong sail, this type of ship is suitable for driving in deep water. The number of small keelboat drivers shall not exceed 3, and the number of large keelboat drivers shall be 15 or more.
The second category is the stable plate boat, the middle of the hull is set up to install the stable plate. The length of the boat is 2 meters to 6 meters. This kind of ship has the characteristics of light hull, simple equipment and flexible driving, which is suitable for sailing in shallow water. The driver of the stable board boat generally only needs about 2 people.
The third category is multi-hull boats. As the name implies, there are two to three boats with strong stability and can achieve better sailing speed under moderate wind conditions.
A power boat is a yacht without sails and propellers for propulsion, and can be of various sizes and structural types.
According to the international standard yacht specifications are calculated in feet, from the size is divided into three types: 36 feet below the small yacht, 36-60 feet for the medium-sized yacht, 60 feet above the large luxury yacht.
There are small boats (below 6 meters), small yachts (between 6 and 10.5 meters), medium yachts (between 10.5 and 18 meters), and large yachts (above 18 meters). Large luxury yachts in the scale of 35~40 meters, 41~44 meters, 45~49 meters, 50~54 meters and 55~60 meters five levels.
In terms of material, there are wooden boats, glass steel boats, Kevlar fiber reinforced composite boats, aluminum boats and steel boats. At present, glass and steel boats account for the vast majority, and racing boats, sail boats and luxury boats use Kevlar reinforcement materials more; aluminum boats account for a certain proportion of outboard hitch boats and large luxury yachts; steel boats account for a large proportion of ocean-going luxury yachts above 35 meters.
